Your Resource For Local Family Fun

Spotlight on Waco Family Fun Fest 2020

Inside a sprawling indoor arena, children are bouncing on inflatables, meeting their favorite characters, getting to know baby goats and ducklings, and being treated to a princess tea party. This kid-friendly event is the Waco Family Fun Fest, and it’s celebrating 14 years of delighting local children.

“The Family Fun Fest is our most productive event of the year,” said James Londenberg, founder and Grand Master Instructor of Family Martial Arts of Texas. “We meet hundreds of potential members at this event.”

The Londenberg family and their martial arts instructors have attended every festival and say, “it just keeps getting better.”

The event began as a way to bring the Hooray for Family resource guide to life so area parents could meet face-to-face with those who provide the products and services most important to their families. And after 14 years, the Fun Fest has become one of the city’s most-anticipated events.

This year’s festival will take place on April 4 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. inside the Extraco Events Center’s General Exhibits Building.

Vendors who attend the event will offer free activities and information on summer camps, birthday parties, childcare and community outreach. Some of the most popular attractions are:

  • Bounce House Fun Zone
  • Character Meet & Greet
  • Live Entertainment
  • Petting Zoo
  • Princess Tea Party
  • Skating Area
  • Touch-A-Truck
  • Trackless Train

Not only is the Fun Fest an exciting day for families, but it is also a day to provide the Caritas food bank with thousands of pounds of food. Because the event is part food drive, admission is FREE with the donation of a canned food item.

This will be a great event for the families of Central Texas, and we hope to see you there!
