Party and Entertainment services for children's birthday parties and public family-friendly events. Fairy tale characters that come to life and entertain at parties and events.
I learned to sew in my childhood from my mom and Grammy, I enjoyed it so much I started a Sewing Business in 2013 called Couture and Sew Much More. I sew special pieces for clients to buy at trade shows: children's clothes, aprons for kids and adults as well as tooth fairy pillows (I have been a dental assistant for almost 12 years and wanted to make something special to include and it is still one of my top sellers at trade shows) most of them were children's favorite fairy tale and superhero characters. I had a lady buy one with “Frozen” on it, not familiar with the movie, she asked if I was one of the sisters due to my hairstyle and looks. I was tickled to be told I looked like a princess so I posted a side by side photo of the resemblance on my Facebook. I had a friend encourage me to make a costume to look similar to the Snow Queen’s and attend her niece's party at U-swirl in 2014.
With a choir and theater background I learned the iconic songs, sang them, read a story, took photos and it was a hit and I had so much fun but I didn't know what to do after that. At the time I was living in the West Texas area working for a pediatric dentist and had a favorite patient of mine get ill and was in the hospital in Lubbock. I dressed up as the Snow Queen, visited her at the hospital, sang a few songs and read the story which raised her spirits. The hospital took notice and asked if I wouldn't mind coming back to visit other kids. I went back quite a few times and ended up being on the news. After the story aired I started getting requests for parties as the Snow Queen for a year straight then I had repeat customers who wanted other characters the following year.
I ended up moving back home to Waco at the end of 2015 adding Enchanted Kingdom Parties and Events and brought the businesses with me. We now have over 30 characters to choose from and my sewing skills have evolved. I make almost every costume I have or alter pieces I find and I have also added bridal and prom alterations as well as everyday hemming . Not only do we do birthday parties and events around Central Texas but we also attend or help organizations that do events for special needs, children with cancer or terminally ill. Making kids smile and still believing in the magic of these characters we bring to life is my goal as well as the adults to see their loved ones happy.
Enchanted Kingdom also partners with The Exchange Event Center in McGregor, TX for community events throughout the year. Upcoming events are:
April 9 - Spring Tea with Fairies
Aug. 20 - Back to School Bash with Superheroes
