THE LIFE OF PI

Not yet rated; likely PG-13. In theaters 11/21. Ok for kids 13+. Reel Review: 5 out of 5 Reels. http://www.lifeofpimovie.com/

This adventure film, directed Ang Lee and based on the best-selling novel by Yann Martel, scored major buzz on the film festival circuit this year. It tells the story of Pi  Patel (Suraj Sharma), the precocious son of a zoo keeper in Pondicherry, India. When the family decides to move to Canada, they hitch a ride on a huge freighter, but the journey ends in a shipwreck. Pi finds himself adrift in the Pacific Ocean on a 26-foot lifeboat with a 450-pound Bengal tiger. Talk about tense! But also sweet, surprising and magical.
