 4.5 REELS

Rated PG-13 for sequences of violence and action, and a rude gesture. On blu-ray 5/07. Ok for kids 13+.

Based on a 2008 "Action Comics" storyline by Geoff Johns, "Superman: Unbound" is the latest in a series of movie adaptations from Warner Bros. Animation and DC Entertainment. The story finds Superman (voiced by Matt Bomer, "White Collar") and his cousin Kara/Supergirl (Molly C. Quinn, "Castle") attacked by Brainiac (the great John Noble, "Fringe"), an alien who attacks planets, shrinks one city small enough to fit into a bottle, then destroys the rest of the planet. The other story thread features Superman struggling to relate to the women in his life, including Lois Lane (Stana Katic, "Castle"). This is a great film with witty dialogue and an interesting villain. Fun for fans of Superman and the DC Universe.
