Sspotlight on Practically Pikasso Waco

If you’re looking for a creative place to have your child’s birthday party or make lasting memories, then Practically Pikasso in Waco, TX just might be the place for you. The paint-your-own pottery studio offers customers the chance to create one-of-a-kind pieces with no required experience.

“[At our studio] the customer is the artist and our job is to give them all the materials they need to make their own creations,” said Marie McClellan, owner of Practically Pikasso.

Patrons of the studio can choose to paint their own pottery or canvas, or they can choose to create something out of glass fusion or mosaics. And there’s no need for a reservation. You can walk right in and start creating. Glazed and fired pieces can be picked up in seven days, canvas and mosaics can be taken home the day-of, and glass fusion takes 10-14 days.

“People come into [the studio] to enjoy spending time together,” McClellan said. “It’s an experience and yes, you produce a product, but you also produce lasting memories.”

The studio can also be a unique place to have a birthday party. Practically Pikasso offers a number of different options for your child and their guests. Packages begin at $17 a painter and include a piece of pottery for each child and a party room to celebrate. Guests can choose between tiles, animal figurines, cereal bowls, and more.

Practically Pikasso also offers three-day and one-day summer “kamps” to allow children the chance to explore their artistic abilities even more. Three-day camps begin on June 17 and include experiences with ceramics, glass fusion, canvas, and tie-dye. These camps are on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and last from 9:30 a.m. - 12 p.m. One-day camps begin June 26 and are from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. These camps include a snack, a drink, and a T-shirt.

Whether you’re visiting the studio to create a gift, have a memorable family night, attend camp, or host a birthday party, Practically Pikasso will inspire the artist inside of you.

The studio is open Monday through Friday from 1 p.m. - 9 p.m. (the studio is closed Mondays 1 - 5 p.m. during the school year), 12 p.m. - 9 p.m. on Saturdays, and 1 p.m. - 6 p.m. on Sundays. For more information about services, parties, and summer camps, visit
