Camp Read is an intensive four week summer reading camp for children grades PK-3rd and is conducted by master’s level speech language pathologists and reading specialists. Camp Read is held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00-11:00 or 1:00-3:00. Camp Read targets reading fluency, phonological awareness, decoding, academic vocabulary and reading comprehension which are essential components for reading success. Each camp has 12 campers who will be divided into three groups of four students while they work on a variety of skills for reading improvement. Parents may sign their child up for one or both sessions of Camp Read. Homework is a critical component of Camp.
Prior to camp a pre-test will need to be conducted to assess current reading levels. A deposit fee must be paid upon registration and the payment is non-refundable.
