Super Handy Thanksgiving Checklist



Thanksgiving is around the corner.  Here is a simple checklist for hosting Thanksgiving in your home.


READY. SET. GO! 


  • Create a budget

  • Determine guest list and extend invites

  • Create meal plan, if ordering a fresh turkey or catered food, do so now

  • Make shopping list – buy non-perishables now to save time

  • Let others know what they can bring

  • Schedule your time for shopping, decorating, and cooking

  • Clean an organize your living room, kitchen, spare bedroom, and bathroom, schedule professionals, if necessary

  • Plan activities for children

  • Plan table decorations and wash all serving pieces, borrow items if needed

  • Plan seating

  • If turkey is frozen, plan when to defrost

  • Prep as much as possible the day before; pies, chop veggies, etc.

  • Allow guests to help prepare and clean up afterward

  • Have a clean-up plan

  • Have a plan for sharing leftovers, buy disposable storage in advance
