5 Kid-Friendly Fourth of July Crafts



The Fourth of July is a day to get together with family and friends, celebrate the birth of our nation, eat great food and watch some fireworks. While all of these traditions are great, why not start some new ones by creating some one-of-a-kind crafts with your kids?

 

Here are a few you might like to try this year:

1. Straw Fireworks

Before you watch real fireworks light up the night sky on the Fourth of July, why not create your own. All you need is a few straws, some transparent tape and some patriotic-colored paint, and you’ll be ready to create some truly festive decorations.

 

2.  Tin Can Windsocks

Have some tin cans lying around waiting to be recycled? Why not use them to create an Independence Day-themed windsock that could be used year after year. Your kids will love being able to see the wind blow through the colorful red and white ribbon.

 

3. Flag T-Shirts

What could be better than a flag tee on the Fourth of July? Well, now you can create one that not only gives your family something special to wear on Independence Day, but is a great way to save your child’s handprint.

 

4. Painted Lawn Stars                         

Flags and other red, white and blue decorations are great for commemorating the country’s birthday. But, why not make your entire yard a part of the decorating? With a little spray paint and a cardboard stencil, you could have a festive display that is larger than life.

 

5. Popsicle Stick Kids Flag

If your kids want a flag to wave on the Fourth of July, then why not let them create their own. They can with this easy-to-assemble, popsicle stick flag that is kid-friendly and adorably patriotic.
