Beans and Roast - Favorite Crock Pot Recipe Contest Finalist

You'll be sure to please all of the meat-lovers in your family with this hearty, stick-to-your-ribs beans and roast recipe. It's flavor-packed and easy to make. It would be great for a quick weeknight meal or for when you're entertaining a large crowd. Here's how you can make your own. 

Ingredients: 

- 2lbs boneless pork roast

- 6 slices, thick-cut bacon (cut into small strips)

- 1 lb dry pinto beans

- 2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce 

- 1 Tbsp of garlic powder

- 1 Tbsp pepper

- 1 Tbsp salt

- 4 Tbsp chili powder

- 1 tsp cumin

- 1 stick of butter

- 1 cup of beef broth

Directions: 

Add water enough to cover beans and roast. You might need to add more water as it cooks. Always have enough to cover the beans Cook on low all day (eight to nine hours) or on high for five to six hours. Meat should be melt-in-your-mouth tender! You might add more salt to taste. For a Spanish twist, add a small can of hot Rotel with green chilies, and a 1/2 cup of chopped cilantro with stems! Enjoy!
