Your Resource For Local Family Fun

Spotlight on Temple Kids Dental

Research shows that children who have a “dental home” to call their own are more likely to receive consistent preventive and routine oral care. That’s why Temple Kids Dental has created an office that kids just don’t want to leave.

With colorful murals, iPads in the waiting area and a treasure tower token reward system, this dental office is more like a theme park than a dentist’s office. But even though there’s lots of fun to be had at this Central Texas location, the Temple Kids Dental team is serious about kids’ dental health.

In the last year the practice has undergone significant facility improvements, and the practice is now able to accommodate and see more children and offer more preventive care options.

The equipment enhancements include updates to cavity prevention and X-ray technology. But high-tech equipment isn’t the only unique aspect of the Temple practice.

The practice also has a relationship with McLane Children’s hospital that allows Temple Kids Dental dentists— Tjel Olson, DMD, Manuel Marien, Jr., DDS, and Aaron Blackwelder, DDS, MS—to perform dental procedures using an anesthesia team from the pediatric medical facility.

The relationship with the hospital allows the dentists and their team to treat children with the most severe medical needs. They can see children both in their office with the anesthesia team, and in the hospital.

The Temple Kids Dental team hopes to see continued growth in the number of local children they can see and provide with the best possible care.

The team strives to bring smiles to all the children of Central Texas, and be a resource to families throughout the area.
